National Meteorological Training School – Entebbe
The National Meteorological Training School (NMTS) is a specialized government institution founded in 1989 through the East African Community under the Department of Meteorology in the then Ministry of Natural Resources. It is currently mainstreamed under the Ministry of Water and Environment as a division within the now Department of Meteorological Services (formerly, Uganda National Meteorological Authority-UNMA) after the 2024 government Rationalization of government Agencies and Public Expenditure (RAPEX).
The school was founded with the primary objective of providing comprehensive meteorological education and training to aspiring meteorologists and professionals in related fields.
As a government-funded institution, NMTS plays a crucial role in developing and enhancing the capabilities of meteorological personnel in Uganda.
